Just hours away from the city and you’re a world away at Racebrook Lodge, in the heart of one of the most beautiful destinations for nature and culture in the country. We’re excited to have Aditi Shah guide daily yoga practices and our home at Racebrook host our rejuvenating weekend.

THE HEART // Growing up in the Berkshires, my summers were filled with hot days laying on hammocks, hiking in the woods, swimming in the river with friends and playing until the sun set with the sweet smell of warm earth and sound of leaves blowing in the wind. We wanted to create that same feeling for adults so we designed a trip back to the Berkshires so we can tap into that childish sense of play with deep rest and rejuvenation afterwards.

THE LIFE ON RETREAT

Weekend Retreat

We’re excited to invite you to a short weekend retreat, designed to get get you far away from the city and into fresh mountain air and thick woods of the Berkshires.

Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts, Race Brook Lodge is home to a myriad of sophisticated cultural arts venues, local sustainable farms and amazingly stunning nature. Staying with us puts you in a prime location right in the middle of some of the best hiking, biking, music, theater, arts and wellness activities in the world.

YOUR TEACHER

Aditi Shah

I grew up a tree climber, barefoot in my backyard with wild hair, trying not to dirty the frocks in which my mother would dress me. I am not a sit still kind of person; I love to move and I love yoga. But yoga is more than a form of movement.

My mission as a yoga and meditation teacher is to show others that a practice is more than making space in your body; it is making space in your mind. One of the things that gives me great joy is cultivating community around this sort of mindfulness. Through gatherings like Mindful Morning, corporate and public events, the classes and trainings I teach in NYC, my goal is to create an experience that is deeper than something physical. After all, yoga is an energetic practice, an experience that threads together the inner and outer selves.

My personal practice is somewhat traditional, and definitely disciplined. Within that structure, there is an inner lightness that leads to creativity, playfulness and cultivates honest self-discovery. At the heart of my practice is the same feeling. I teach a flowing vinyasa class threaded with alignment and structure, and I love to explore playful ways to experience the practice. Similarly, meditation, serves as a way to sit quietly and experience our inner landscape, to shed the layers we build up out in the Real World, and bring us back to our authentic selves.

YOUR HOME

Racebrook Lodge

When you step outside your room, you’ll be greeted with breathtaking hiking trails that will lead you to the must-see views from the top of Race Brook Falls. From there, you have direct access to The Appalachian Trail and just across the brook, you’ll find our farm garden, which grows much of the produce for our restaurant.

Our family-run space is founded on a deep commitment to serving the unique needs of each of our guests. We host couples seeking a tranquil, romantic Berkshires getaway for anniversaries, weddings, or just because. We also host wellness and yoga retreats, corporate events, and family gatherings. Regardless of your needs, we are here to provide you with an unforgettable, easeful experience that will leave you feeling rejuvenated, refreshed, and more connected to yourself, nature, and any new friends you made along the way.

THE JOURNEY

Travel Info

Racebrook is only a few hours from both Boston and New York. We have a free shuttle from Wassaic Train Station on the Harlem line coming from Central Station. We also always connect participants for carpooling to save on gas and impact on the environment.

FROM THE SOUTH

Your GPS may give you a few options, but we believe the best way to come from New York City and other points to the South is to take I-684 to Brewster and continue North on NY Route 22 until Millerton NY, then go East on 44 to Salisbury CT. Then North on Route 41 for 7 miles. Race Brook Lodge is about 3 miles north of the CT-MA border on the left.

FROM THE EAST

If you are coming from Boston, there is really just one way to go. Take the Mass Turnpike (I-90)West to Exit 2 in Lee and then go 102 West to 7 south to 41 South. It’s about 40 minutes from the Turnpike to Race Brook Lodge.

Our mission is to connect people to their deepest purpose/truths, wellbeing and inspiration. We combine vibrant yoga and wellness teachers with incredible guides, local culture, nourishing food, inspiring adventure and a crew of fun-loving people from around the world. Along this journey, you’ll have a Yogascapes Guide supporting you every step of the way, from signing up to helping you on a glacier.

When you come on a yogascapes retreat, nothing is mandatory and we build in plenty of time for you to be own your own, to rest more, to explore more, or to be open to whatever shows up.

We love food, period. Delicious, healthy, beautiful, thoughtful food that nourishes the body and inspires the creative soul. Food is where we come together to replenish our bodies and where our community is built.

POLICIES & TERMS

Get Clear Before You Purchase

We encourage those that can’t afford the full price option to sign up early for the lowest price. We strive to maintain a balance between offering our programs to the widest range of participants and running a sustainable and thriving company so that we can continue to create and share our experiences with you. Please inquire about payment plans.  We can split up your payments to make it work, however final payments are due 60 days prior to the start date of your retreat.

By reserving your space through placing your deposit with us, you are agreeing to the stated policies in our Agreement.  Please read in full and please note:

If cancellation takes place more than 60 days prior to your departure date any payments made will be refunded minus your deposit. If cancellation takes place between 30-60 days prior to your departure, 50% of the trip price will be forfeited. If cancellation takes place less than 30 days prior to your departure date, 100% of the trip price will be forfeited.

YOGASCAPES reserves the right to make any changes deemed necessary by our team, trip leaders, teachers or partners. In the rare case of a cancellation on the part of YOGASCAPES (due to political unrest, dangerous weather, or low sign-ups)  we will offer a transfer to another trip or a full refund of your funds. We require all participants to purchase travel insurance and highly encourage them to purchase “cancel for any reason” to protect them against the rare chance of cancellation.

All prices are per/person and include a non-refundable deposit of $250 for domestic trips and $500+ for international trips.  Final payments for deposits are due 60 days prior to departure.
