YOGA, HOT SPRINGS, GLACIERS, WATERFALLS & MORE
Daily yoga practice in the global heartland of geothermal energy, meditation, hot spring soaks and glacier hikes serve as the backdrop for this inspiring journey of inner and outer exploration. You’ll get a diverse overview of this magical land as we travel to three different hotels in three different locations, starting in the far southern tip to explore glaciers & Icebergs, we’ll move to a new hotel in the cultural center of Reykjavik and close at a luxurious adventure retreat in the heart of geothermal activity. Plenty of free time and optional trips make this escape customizable to all levels and interests.
WHO IS THIS TRIP FOR?
Our Iceland Yoga Retreat is designed for people with all levels of yoga and adventure experience. Men, women, couples, best friends, old friends and soon to be new friends. Our goal is to connect as deeply as possible to nature and to the cultural core of this beautiful place. I mean how often do you get to go to Iceland with a group of people that are passionate about such similar things?! This means we’ll be outside as much as possible, hiking to hot springs, walking in mossy fields, following rivers to see where they take us, climbing glaciers etc. Nothing we do is mandatory but everything we have planned is irresistible. This is not a “luxury yoga retreat” by any means, that’s not why we go to Iceland, but don’t be surprised if you fall in love with all of the charming places we stay, or the healthy food we work hard to find in a country known most for it’s fermented shark meat and puffins.

Trailblazer, creator & master in movement, Rebecca Halls (B.F.A. Dance Concordia 2009), is a Canadian professional dancer, choreographer, yoga teacher, and hula hoop artist based in Los Angeles, California. She travels the globe to teach, speak and perform.
Rebecca and filmmaker Marites Carino, were commissioned by EMPAC Dance Movies to create the dance for camera short “HOOP”, which has been featured internationally at Film Festivals across the U.S., Canada and Europe. As a choreographer, Rebecca was the first in Montreal to integrate hula hoops into a contemporary dance piece, Pi.r.squared, (2007) at Espace Tangente who commissioned her to return from Europe to perform her solo “Spin”(2012) at Place des Arts in Montreal.
Curiosity, creativity, courage and a strong work ethic, have enabled Rebecca to break new ground continuously. She founded the annual HOOPURBIA dance festival and education platform (2012-2014 Berlin and Prague), invented the first Laser Hula Hoop. She works in collaboration with DJ’s, video artists, and choreographers to create, direct and perform artistic videos and events in Iceland, Great Britain, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
When overcoming injuries, Rebecca became certified in GYROTONIC® which enables her to support others healing. This work led her into inquiry in Nutrition and Meditation to enhance her healing and support of her students and clients.
Yoga & Hoop Teacher
After arriving in Keflavik we will journey to the magical Ion hotel for two nights where we’ll soak in their beautiful pool and surround ourselves in the quiet of the Icelandic nature. Hike to Hot Springs, discover waterfalls, eat bread baked in the ground, and launch our wonderful retreat at this breathtaking venue.
We’ll then spend 3 nights going deeper at Glacier Lagoon Hotel. We’ll dive deep into the geothermal and glacier landscape that Iceland is so known for.
Finally we’ll spend 2 nights in Reykjavik in hand selected private apartments (that are nicer than most hotels)! Here we’ll soak in the magic of this unique city. We’ll practice yoga at the local studio, eat delicious food, take day trips and explore the music and night life that is so abundant in this fantastic city. This is your time to explore on your own and do any optional excursions of your liking.
Most of the food we’ll eat is organic and local. Delicious vegetarian options as well as fresh, local fish and meat for those that eat it will be available. Breakfasts are usually buffet style featuring cheeses, fruits, skyr(icelandic yogurt), cereals, juices and coffee/tea. We can accommodate most food requests as long as we know in advance!
In Reykjavik you’ll be going out for lunch and dinner. Because we will not always be eating together people expect to to pay for 2 meals a day while we are in Reykjavik. There are a few delicious vegetarian restaurants and one raw food restaurant near the studio. There are a lot of international options including a delicious Indian restaurant that we ate at last year.
We offer three payment options based when you sign up! We encourage those that can’t afford the full price option to sign up early for the lowest price. We strive to maintain a balance between offering our programs to the widest range of participants and running a sustainable and thriving company so that we can continue to create and share our experiences with you. Please inquire about payment plans. We can split up your payments however final payments are due at least 45 days prior to the start date of your retreat.
