Baxter teaches, writes, and lectures internationally on the benefits of yoga as a powerful tool in addressing the underlying causes, not just the symptoms, of stress. A leading light in the movement to bring yoga into the mainstream medical world, Baxter has been actively deepening his understanding of yoga and relaxation since moving from his career as a busy family doctor to that of a yoga teacher and medical acupuncturist. He is deeply involved in the integration of therapeutic applications of yoga with Western medicine. Baxter has played the violin since age five, is a frequent contributor to Yoga Journal, and is a prolific and popular blogger on ‘Yoga for Healthy Aging.’
Melina Meza has been sharing her knowledge of Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda, and whole foods nutrition with yogis around the world for over 20 years. Melina pioneered Seasonal Vinyasa, an innovative multi-disciplined approach to well-being, and is the author of the Art of Sequencing books and the creator of the Yoga for the Seasons – Fall Vinyasa DVD. Prior to moving to Oakland in December 2011, Melina has been teaching yoga full time at 8 Limbs Yoga Centers (Seattle, Washington) since 1997 and co-directs of the 8 Limbs Yoga Centers 200 and 500 – hour teacher training Program.
