What's Unique

This is an extraordinary opportunity to travel with purpose, both to tether your heart to your purpose in life and to take a stand for our precious earth by supporting a beautiful project that protects one of, if not the most important natural habitats in the world. On this special journey, we will spend time with the legendary Achuar, whose courageous warrior spirit is dedicated to protecting the pristine rainforest on behalf of us all, and the deeply spiritual Sápara whose commitment to the healing power of the forest and finding viable alternatives to oil exploitation has preserved their culture against all odds.

THE HEART // Our mission at Yogascapes is to heal the world through healing the individual and the community. The more we explore the world, the more we learn how important it is to have the gift of our inward journey expressed by making a stand for what we believe in and we believe in saving this beautiful planet that gives to us without ever asking for anything in return.  We embark on this journey to visit two indigenous cultures who embody the inward journey and the outward protection of mother earth. As Yogascapes grows we commit to supporting these cultures, not just so that we ourselves can learn from them, but so that we can help them protect the pristine rainforest for all people now and generations to come.

Amazon Journey

On this unique Journey offered in partnership with Pachamama Alliance, connect with a group of like-minded, awake individuals for the Journey of a lifetime into the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Yoga and self-inquiry will be utilized to integrate the profound experience of being with our indigenous partners in the rainforest on the levels of mind, body, heart, and soul.

Join us for a life-changing immersion with two extraordinary and complementary cultures: the legendary Achuar, whose courageous warrior spirit is dedicated to protecting the pristine rainforest on behalf of us all, and the deeply spiritual Sápara whose commitment to the healing power of the forest and finding viable alternatives to oil exploitation has preserved their culture against all odds. They are powerful allies for one another and have been working with the Pachamama Alliance for over two decades to preserve their ancestral cultures and territories. With stays at the Achuar community lodge of Ti’inkias and the Sápara community-based project of Naku, there will be many opportunities for intimate connection and sharing with these remarkable people.

From the Road

Testimonials & Our Story

“This was my first retreat with Yogascapes and it far exceeded my expectations! The breathtaking location, the wine tasting, the delicious food, everything was just fabulous.”

I have been to 78 countries and visited shamans and indigenous tribes before. This was the best trip I have ever been on! The participants were open, well prepared, and well traveled. The guide was the most personal and involved guide I have experienced. The scenery was magnificent. The meals were great. The spiritual insights will evolve with me slowly over time. The indigenous were generally un-Westernized. The purpose for the trip, of saving the rainforest and indigenous ways of life, was an overarching meaning for our experiences. I can’t say enough about how wonderful this trip was!
– Rosalind Carol, San Carlos CA

“I left the retreat refreshed. Loved the Yoga sessions they energized me for the day and relaxed me for the night. The teacher Shannon and Micah were amazing in that I lost myself in the yoga and the fabulous surrounding. The food was plentiful and very yummy. As a first time rock climber I was exhilarated to make it to the top of a tricky climb that I thought was far out of my skill. But the instructor talked me through step by step and I made it to the top. And the group was wonderful.”

This is the journey of a lifetime, one I will repeat. I have been on many learning journeys throughout my life. I feel as if they were all leading to this one. It was awesome, in the highest sense of that word. I was awed, humbled, inspired and embraced by the experience.”
– Cherie Clark, Troy, NY

My journey into the heart of the rainforest with Pachamama was one of the most potent experiences of my life. I had the feeling of being guided back in time as I went deeper into my own true self. I returned so alive and much more awakened to my life’s greater purpose.”
– Adam DeVito, President, Big Bang Strategy Founding Principal, big BOING Inc., Sausalito, CA

This journey for me was about rediscovering purpose, passion, possibility and power in everyday life. I am not only re-inspired and recommitted to making a difference, I am also profoundly aware of how we are all connected in ways we cannot imagine.”
– Jim Selman, Organizational Change Consultant, Vancouver, BC

Rebecca Rogers

I teach Vinyasa (flow yoga) classes that are often described as strong, fun, and inspirational. I believe in the power of yoga to awaken each of us to a greater sense of purpose and intentional living, and to unite the yoga community around sustainability and social justice. Classes are intended to build strength, body awareness and flexibility through an integration of breath work, creative sequencing and precise alignment. Classes are safe for newer students and challenging for more experienced yogis, and include hands-on adjustments, descriptive cues, and individualized attention.

I have been practicing and teaching yoga for more than fifteen years.  Dedicated to promoting peace, well-being, and sustainability on a global scale, I have a masters in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, with a focus on Sustainable Development.  I have taught human rights to high school students, trained Peace Corps volunteers, volunteered in an indigenous community in the Ecuadorian Amazon, worked with Fortune 500 companies to reduce their environmental impact, and managed a leadership, international service and fundraising program aimed at mobilizing the global yoga community for greater social and environmental justice.

I currently manage the Journeys Program for the Pachamama Alliance, which are purposeful, transformative travel immersions that go well beyond traditional eco-tourism or adventure travel. We journey at the request of our indigenous partners in Ecuador who invite us to visit and learn from their ancient cultures and pristine rainforest so that we may carry their wisdom and message home.

Traveling // Amazon

This is the most adventurous journey we’ve ever embarked on and we can’t wait for you to join us.

Upon arrival you’ll stay in a quaint hotel in Quito, your arrival city. The next morning we’ll head to the gateway of the Amazon where you’ll stay in another humble/quaint hotel.

Then we begin the heart of the journey. With stays at the Achuar community lodge of Ti’inkias and the Sápara community-based project of Naku, there will be many opportunities for intimate connection and sharing with these remarkable people. The lodges here will be comfortable but definitely rustic. If you’re looking for a luxury retreat, we have other offerings available. If you’re looking for one of the most unique experiences on earth, here we go!

To end our journey we will spend two days in the mountain town of Banos where we can recover and integrate from our incredible journey. We’ll have access to spa treatments, bodywork and pools as we end our journey, not with a focus on luxury, but with a focus on nourishment and assimilation of experience before we head home.

Travel Info

The cost of the trip includes meals, double accommodations, transportation, guides and equipment within Ecuador. It does not include international air travel to and from Quito, gratuities, or optional activities such as shamanic experiences.

Your experience with Pachamama will begin and end in Quito, Ecuador and participants make their own flight arrangements. The dates of your journey include travel dates both into and out of Quito – for example, if your journey is scheduled for October 6 – 17, you should plan on arriving at the designated hotel (included in trip fee) by midnight on October 6.

There will not be any group activities planned for the 17th, but it is a 2.5 hour drive from Banos to Quito so please book your flight for 12pm or later if you choose to return home on the 17th.

While it is fine to arrive and depart on the specific travel days, we do recommend that you arrive one or more days early to rest and acclimate to the altitude of the Andes. It also ensures that possible travel delays do not hold you up from joining the group on time. After the journey is complete, participants often find it helpful to have a day or two to integrate the experience before heading back home.

Of Every Yogascapes Retreat

Our mission is to connect people to their deepest purpose/truths, wellbeing and inspiration. We combine vibrant yoga and wellness teachers with incredible guides, local culture, nourishing food, inspiring adventure and a crew of fun-loving people from around the world. Along this journey, you’ll have a Yogascapes Guide supporting you every step of the way, from signing up to helping you on a glacier.

While every single retreat we create is unique based on the local culture, incredible teachers, the time of year and the environment, every experience is built on the following pillars.

Each retreat is filled with a mix of yoga, mantra, mudra, meditation and more. To learn more about the specifics of this retreat, check out the schedule or contact us.

When you come on a yogascapes retreat, nothing is mandatory and we build in plenty of time for you to be own your own, to rest more, to explore more, or to be open to whatever shows up.

We love food, period. Delicious, healthy, beautiful, thoughtful food that nourishes the body and inspires the creative soul. Food is where we come together to replenish our bodies and where our community is built.

Traveling is adventure of the senses and we build each trip to open our senses up to the world and be open to the world through our senses.

We believe the experiences that last a lifetime are the ones in which you are learning and integrating what you learn into your life. Our teachers and guides create unique opportunities for deepening and expansion of your practice.

We know that life is overwhelming at times and our nervous systems beg not only for the medicine of adventure, but for deep rest and rejuvenation. A week of quiet nights and deep sleep, time for napping and giving yourself permission to do nothing at all.

Our mission is to connect people to their purpose by exposing them to practices, people and places that bring out their deepest truths and desires. Each one has the intention to bring you into a deeper connection with yourself and your true gifts.

Come with no story to defend and no judgement to be had. Meet people who will change your life and/or share in all the ups and downs. Connect to old friends and family in a new way, on a retreat, or when you go back home. Our own healing is the healing of the planet and so we work work with eco-lodges and companies that have similar ethos and missions.

Giving Back: 2 trees are planted every retreat sign up to help protect our planet and natural resources. At check out, we also offer you the opportunity to give to inspiring local and international projects. Find out more here.
