6 Beautiful Days

Join YOGASCAPES and Lihi Benisty on a truly unforgettable art and cultural immersion yoga retreat in Cuba! We’ve collaborated with local guides to bring you a fully curated experience that showcases the authentic creative energy and vibrance of the island in one incredible week. We begin in the heart beat of Havana with powerful daily yoga with Lihi, live music, dance classes, visits to local community art projects and more. Here we get to dive into a world that celebrates the true richness of life in community, expression and celebration.

Then we find tranquility and nature in the picturesque mountain region of Viñales, offering an ideal balance in your experience of Cuba. We’ll hike and explore the untouched forests and agricultural landscapes. Staying homestays all week, we’ll be welcomed by the warmth of local hospitality. Part of your registration includes a donation to a local organization called Las Aguas Fund and the work that supports sustainability in Cuban yoga communities.

Because it can be fun to be free to explore the Havana food scene on your own, there are some lunches and dinners not included. We can provide recommendations and help make reservations as needed.

Lihi Benisty

I flirted with yoga my entire life but I could never quite get myself to commit. After college, I dedicated myself to a daily practice purely as a way to workout. Despite my initial objective, subtle shifts began to take place as I continued to roll out my mat. I started to slow down, get out of my head and into my body. That’s when my perspective of yoga shifted from a mode of exercise to a healing art. Each practice offers me the opportunity to hold space and to show up for myself, exactly where I am.

As a teacher, I aim to guide students toward cultivating an inner-awareness while building strength and flexibility of both body and mind. I strive to include the perfect alchemy of precise physical instruction, intelligence, intention, and space into my classes. Expect detailed attention to alignment in an attempt to discover the subtleties of each posture, while using the breath to find a sense of lightness and ease. The respect that I have for all of my teachers who have walked this path before me runs deep. In my classes you will always find balance between STABILITY and EASE. OM ~

I draw from various yoga lineages (vinyasa, ashtanga, bhakti, iyengar) and incorporate them into a rich and satisfying experience. My philosophy on yoga is this; Find and face the challenges on the mat, so that we may live our lives effortlessly. My classes are challenging, uplifting, and approachable, as I takes you beyond the physical aspects of yoga, and brings you into your own sacred space. Through a variety of poses, breathwork and conscious sequencing, my classes will build strength, flexibility, and balance through stability and ease, as well as provide the space to discover the truth in transition, and the sense of lightness you’re looking for in your practice.

Homestays in Havana & Vinales

In Havana, Cuba’s capital, we’ll stay in a homestay 1 block from the sea in the hip neighborhood of Vedado. This will be our jumping off point for all of our adventures throughout the old and new city. Our homestay offers beautiful rooms – mostly double accommodations, but single accommodations are available.

Viñales is located in western Cuba, a few hours from Havana. Boasting colorful houses and botanical gardens, Viñales is scenic, most known as the gateway to the Sierra de los Organos mountains and the Viñales Valley. The valley’s large limestone hills are will known to rock climbers and hikers for dramatic views. Our homestay will be adjacent houses with a backyard of nature views and farms.
