We are so be excited to be bringing Yogascapes guests to Canada this November! This retreat weekend is handcrafted to combine yoga, ayurvedic wellness and incredible food in an off-the-beaten path destination amidst natural Canadian beauty. Our weekend retreat theme is “Remedy of Ritual” — think cabin glamping in the forest, slow flow yoga overlooking the space where the ocean meets the shore, and evening yin yoga combined with creating rituals and remedies that nourish us, inside and out.
This retreat features delicious and healing Pukka Herbs, made with love for people, plants and planet.
We are so excited to venture further into nature so close to home. Just a ferry ride away from Vancouver lies this Galiano, the sunniest and wildest of BC’s Southern Gulf Islands, and Bodega Ridge, our home for the weekend, makes the most of its natural charms. Leah Adams will be guiding you through a full but relaxing weekend of thoughtful slow yoga flows, morning meditations, yin yoga, make it yourself workshop of dosha balancing teas and skin elixirs and more.
Meals will be prepared by chef Josh Blumenthal; he has spent time working in Vancouver’s most celebrated restaurants, as well as working in Michelin-starred kitchens in Europe. We will sip warm tea by the fire and explore how we can use the map of the Ayurvedic doshas to tune into the wisdom of the body. Beginning to recognize the qualities of the doshas can support us in creating vibrant health and creating nourishing rituals to support our own unique needs.
There will be abundant time for napping, hiking, and personal reflection. You can also choose to embark on fishing charters, kayaking, mountain biking (we have high end Kona bikes on premises), guided hikes and more. We can make recommendations or handle arrangements. This trip is open to people of all experiences and backgrounds.

Leah, a certified Yoga Instructor and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor describes yoga as a “natural and essential component” of her humanity, a practice that is “beautiful and effective because it taps us into our parasympathetic nervous systems and allows us to rest, reset, heal and digest to feel calm and nourished.”
Leah teaches weekly classes to providers at Washington’s top Cancer Care Hospital, is serving as a faculty member for a CME (continuing medical education) course of Seattle’s Virginia Mason Hospital, and has also lead mindful yin classes at the University of Washington Mindfulness Project. In her classes she encourages students to find connection to their inner wisdom, healing, creativity and joy. She believes that every choice, every day, in every way, can add restored vitality and mind-body balance into our lives. Leah has spent fifteen years working in fashion, advertising and yoga retail as a stylist, buyer, sales representative & model for companies including Volkswagen, Evian, Crest, Chanel, Semperviva Yoga, Pyrrha, hauteyoga and A Peace Treaty. As a stylist Leah spent years lugging around heavy items. After one too many an instance of carrying dozens of boxes of shoes all at once, she began yearning to be kinder and gentler with herself. As Leah started to explore the relationship between yoga and her other creative passions, yoga resonated with her and became a practice she began to cherish deeply and implement into her lifestyle with devotion.
Leah is a passionate student of Ayurveda and is a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor and has completed a NAMA (National Ayurvedic Medical Association) approved course of study.
