Teacher Spotlight: Rachelle Tratt

I am so happy I had the time connect with our teacher Rachelle Tratt. I’m in awe of how she effortlessly weaves her yoga practice, love for writing and self care rituals into her daily life. Talk about living your yoga on and off the mat! She is a source of inspiration. Get to know Rachelle before you join her on the Nicaragua Yoga Retreat at Maderas Village!
What excites you about your upcoming retreat to Nicaragua?
I have always wanted to visit Maderas Village. I love the idea of having a retreat intertwined with an already existing community. There is so much magic when being able to be in an exotic place that is surrounded by nature, healing food, like minded people, surf, and lots of opportunity for adventures and healing.
What does your practice look like? What is your favorite pose?
I practice and teach multiple times during the week. I practice mainly at the studio where I teach. Right now my favorite pose is humble warrior.
Who are your teachers? Who/what inspires your teachings?
I have many teachers, a lot of them have become colleagues and friends. Some of my teachers have included, Shiva Rea, Annie Carpenter, Jimmy Barkan, and my colleagues and friends who I practice with are Mary Beth Larue, Lauren and Travis Elliot, Tamal Dodge – all in the Los Angeles area.
What are your favorite self care rituals or habits?
baths, walking, journaling, dancing, time at the spa and with friends, movies, spending time in nature
What do you like to do in your spare time?
hike, bike, anything outdoors, road trips, travel, spend time with friends, yoga, dream about the next adventure, write
