Spring Into Stand-Up Paddleboard Yoga
April 8, 2016
The chirping birds, the budding of the trees and the warmth of the sun, spring is upon us.
We begin to reminisce about last summer and the long warm days of being outdoors enjoying Mother Nature’s gifts. We begin to think about the adventures that we can add to for this year and where they can take us. The world is open for exploration and filled with opportunity to adventure to many amazing places. But how we explore is up to us.
With the ever increasing popularity of stand-up paddleboarding and the many disciplines, it is a great addition to any adventure. From paddling down gentle rivers in the Rocky Mountain states to exploring the Alpine Caribbean of Lake Tahoe or taking a SUP yoga class in a tropical paradise, SUP is everywhere. The perspective we see while standing above the water adds a totally unique and dynamic perspective, no other water activity can replicate. Then add in the fact that we can bring our studio practice to the water and introduce ourselves to the peace and tranquility of SUP yoga. Even if we are nervous about exploring poses on a stand-up paddleboard, laying down and taking in savasana is a great way to take in our first stand-up paddleboard yoga experience.
As you begin to plan your spring, summer and fall adventures look to the waters of the world and see where you can explore the world in another way. I promise you, you will not be disappointed with the outcome and the sites you will see will be different from anything you have imagined. And if fear is holding you back, embrace it and let it inspire and guide you outside of the comfort zone and into the world of the unknown!
