Where is this retreat and how do/when do I get there?

Do I need to book my own transportation to Lotus Feed?

You are responsible for booking your own transportation. Out of state retreaters, we recommend flying into San Francisco, Oakland, or Santa Rosa Airport and either renting a car or carpooling with other guests. We suggest arriving between 1:00-3:00 pm to get settled before the retreat starts at 5:00 pm.  On Sunday, plan your flight with enough time after our 10:00am brunch and check out at 3:00pm.

Where is the retreat center located and how do I get there from the airport?

Lotus Feed Retreat Center is located near Occidental, CA 95465. You will receive exact directions. Airport transfer is not included but we can help set up shared rides among guests.

Will I need cash?

All of the activities highlighted on the trip page are included in the price. Lotus Feed is fairly isolated, but if you want to drive to town to get supplies there are stores in Occidental.

Can I arrive early to the retreat and stay late?

There is not usually availability on either side of the retreat, but please inquire if interested.

Is travel insurance mandatory for this yoga retreat? How do I purchase it?

Travel insurance is only required for our international trips, but it’s never a bad idea! We suggest this policy from Travel Guard or similar: Travel Guard – Gold(Protect Assist) w/ Cancel for any reason http://www.travelguard.com/. For more information please contact the Insurance provider you are looking to purchase with or contact us.

What food can I expect?

All the meals are vegetarian and fresh from the garden. At breakfast we offer coffee, tea, cereal and Super Food smoothies as a light meal before we have morning yoga. Brunch and dinner are a full array of fresh vegetables and salads, home made herb dips and dressings, root vegetable soups, and our hand made wood oven fired pizzas are a special treat. We will provide all meals during your trip (2-3 daily). Please let us know as soon as you sign up for the trip or before you sign up if you have any special needs; food allergies or other allergies, or any other special needs or conditions, dietary or medical.

What is the bathroom and shower situation?

One of the best parts of staying at the Lotus Feed is using the outdoor showers nestled underneath the big oak tree. This offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature! There is hot water and private shower stalls. Some yurts have their own private toilets, claw foot bath tubs, and or shower. Most yurts share the external bathrooms which are private flushing toilets stalls.

Where does the yoga take place and how often?

We will practice on Friday night, twice on Saturday, and on Sunday morning. There is a beautiful outdoor yoga space partially shaded by a passion flower canopy overlooking the farm. On cooler mornings, there is an cozy indoor yoga dome with a fireplace inside.

If I sign up alone, how do you organize roommates?

We’ll set you up with a roommate if you select a shared rooming option, and you can trust us!

How many people will be on this yoga retreat?

There are usually around 15-20 people on each trip.

How much free time do we have?

We have a healthy balance of group time, yoga, optional activities, and down time. You can always decide to take down time or go on a run. Please find more details under the trip itinerary.

What level yoga will there be and how often?

Yoga classes will be 1-2 times daily and all levels. Our teachers are amazing at creating classes that are both suitable for beginners and challenging for the more experienced!

How much free time will we have?

YOGASCAPES yoga retreats honor giving participants plenty of free time to explore on their own or relax back at the retreat. We pride ourselves on putting together an itinerary that allows you to dive deep into the sense of place and also dive deep into your well being and relaxation.

 

 

When are final payments due?

Final balances are due 60 days before the departure date of the trip. If final payments are not received by 60 days prior to departure, YOGASCAPES reserves the right to cancel your reservation and accept new reservations for your space. If you do not think you can pay in time please contact us via email.

How do I prepare for my yoga retreat in Umbria?

-Warm clothing for layering at night and in the morning

-Comfortable shoes (pools are ~15 min walk)
