Savasana: A Poem on Retreat by Matt Rowe
April 27, 2017
Sometimes it can feel difficult to capture the beauty or essence of what it feels like to be on retreat – to capture the inspiration, the sense of deep relaxation and connection with other friendly yogis. On our annual Spring Sierras retreat, the quiet valley in the Sierras and hot springs under the stars provide a wonderful platform to take our time, reflect and write about this experience. Guest, Matt Rowe, offers this beautiful poem that captures a glimpse of his time on retreat. It is our honor to share it with you below.
the water flows into our dry places
our dry places firm up and become stable foundations
our stable foundations free us to breathe deep and
our deep breaths fuel our passion as we
move into a world
so in need of love
From inside ourselves to
expression in the world
May our fullness be satisfying
and our loves
