Escape the city and follow your heart to the unbelievable landscapes of Zion. It’s on everyone’s bucket lists’s and now’s the time to get your hike and yoga on among those impressive views.

Our days will be feature amazing yoga sessions with Gillian St. Clair, on a yoga platform looking out towards towering red rock formations and vast openness. Heading into the park, we’ll continue to let our spirits free and embrace some amazing hikes available to us – hikes that may push us to remember our strength and reward us with incredible beauty. There are a variety of hikes we can do including: the zigzagging ascent to Observation Point, the more intense and exposed trek up to Angels Landing (so worth it!), East Rim Trail or the more relaxed walk to Emerald Pools or Riverside walk to the Gateway of the Narrows for a dip. All are incredible and a wonderful way to experience Zion. The specific group hikes we choose will depend on weather and potentially availability of permits, however we will make plenty of information and options available to you so you can co-create your adventure! Tourist cars are now allowed to drive into the park, so we will take advantage of the park shuttle system to explore.

Every day we will soak up our unique “glamping” accommodations at Under Canvas Zion, which offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to camp near Zion National Parks with a bit of an upleveled comfort. Please remember this is not a luxury hotel retreat (we have plenty of those); it is a down-to-earth getaway into nature and we are still camping under the stars.

What to Expect:

Get ready for a trip all about discovery of your personal strength, bravery, and inner badass.

This retreat invites us to be active in our bodies and each celebrate our own love of movement. With that said, all levels of hikers and yogis are completely welcomed – it is most important to us that you stay connected to your individual needs and comfort levels… Often we discover the most powerful experiences when we listen to the pull of what challenges us. We will be there to support you along the way.

We only require that you bring a sense of adventure and an open mind. This is a down to earth retreat and that’s how we like it.

Note: There are many amazing hike to choose from and we work with local partners who know best. Some trails do require special permits and gear, and access may be granted in a lottery system. Therefore, specific hike details will be provided closer to the retreat date.

Nomadic from birth being raised by traveling minster, seriously with my older siblings, two cats and a dove, we traveled all over Europe and the US listening to my mother teach (I would say preach but she didn’t, she taught.) It’s funny how “traveling” “sitting” and “listening” have become such a huge part of my adult life. The sitting and listening part took me a long time to come to terms with.

I started my asana practice in 1999. I came from a life of dancing (ballet & contemporary) didn’t know how much I relied on the physical to take care of my emotional state until the day I quit dance. I had no knowledge of where I was storing all my feelings (my life) until then. So when I took my first Ashtanga yoga class I felt completely clear again, it was magic! I felt whole.

After coming back from India, I opened Steadfast and True Yoga in Nashville TN in August 2010. I wanted to create a studio and space that holds tightly to values of right action and  less distraction, to create healthy reactions. I wanted to create an extended family. I succeeded. Steadfast is constantly growing and evolving, but it has been and will continue to be an amazing journey for me.

I am very passionate about truth and integrity and ask for that in my yoga classes. I ask the yogi to seek the knowledge of breath and asana before the fluidity and vinyasa. Having said that, I teach very strong alignment based Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha classes. When you come to my class know that you are safe and supported in the journey we take together. It’s important to understand that everything in yoga is attainable although its process that needs to explored.

I ask the students to focus on what their true needs are and let go of wants. That way they (we) can stop being so needy and stop wanting what isn’t ours. “Contentment before bliss, peace is in the  middle.” I think I’m funny and love when people laugh at my jokes. I adore and thank the universe daily for my husband Jason and our daughter Sydelle.
