Through the healing practices of yoga, Buddhist meditation, and reevaluating our underlying beliefs, we can emerge inspired to transform how we relate to our bodies to benefit not only ourselves, but the world around us.
Inspired by her recently successful book, Full: how one woman found yoga, eased her inner hunger, and started loving herself, Kimber shares the transformational practices which helped her overcome the residual effects of an eating disorder. Women of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds are invited to join Kimber in taking this next step in deepening their relationship with themselves.
Fifteen years ago Kimber Simpkins gave up being a lawyer and dove into the intensive study of yoga, with barely a glace back. Since then, yoga has brought more joy and delight to her life every day.
The wisdom of Buddhist and Tantric philosophy, the insights of physics and psychology, storytelling, and music continuously resonate through Kimber’s teaching and the experience of her students on the mat. She comes from a long line of lay preachers, teachers, singers, and healers and is happy to be walking a path that blends all of these roles. Kimber is the author of the Silver Nautilus Award-winning memoir Full: How one woman found yoga, eased her inner hunger, and started loving herself out in March 2015 from New Harbinger Publications.
Currently Kimber is working on a second book, 52 Ways to Love Your Body, based on the yoga workshop in which she shares with women the tools that led her from loathing her body to loving it. In addition to her work around body image and eating, Kimber finds herself drawn to the question of how yoga can help our innate connection to nature stay vibrantly alive while living in an urban environment. When not on her yoga mat, you may find her playing, meditating, dancing, writing, or hula-hooping in her backyard garden. She teaches weekly classes, immersions, workshops, and retreats year round and supports the Health At Every Size (HAES) movement, welcoming students of all sizes and levels in her classes.
Kimber received her teaching certification through Anusara Yoga in 2008 and has found much inspiration from wonderful teachers, including Katchie Ananda, Sianna Sherman, Noah Maze, Pema Chodron, Carlos Pomeda, Wes Nisker, Kevin Griffin, and many others. A long-time Bay Area resident, she lives with the love of her life, son, dog, and cat in Oakland.

Start your day with a yoga or a pond side meditation and spend your day meandering through our medicinal herb gardens. Cultivate a relationship with the earth and lend a hand in the organic gardens harvesting the fruits and labor of the land to feast for our Farm To Table Communal Feast.

End your day with a sunset yoga practice under the passion flower canopy and the rest of you evening can be spent star gazing by the fire pit.
We have thoughtfully crafted the native land into a perfect classroom to dive into wild edibles and medicinals. Our cultivated gardens and structures present learning experiences in permaculture and the peace and energy of the land provide a backdrop for transformation, learning and evolution. Farm to table meals will be harvested from our stunning circle garden and prepared in our outdoor pizza oven imported from Italy.
We encourage those that can’t afford the full price option to sign up early for the lowest price. We strive to maintain a balance between offering our programs to the widest range of participants and running a sustainable and thriving company so that we can continue to create and share our experiences with you. Please inquire about payment plans if you need help spreading out payments. We can split up your payments however final payments are due at least 45 days prior to the start date of your retreat.
