This is my first retreat, is that okay? I’m an advanced practitioner, is that okay?
YOGASCAPES yoga retreats are almost always all levels. We work with advanced teachers that can create a retreat experience that welcomes beginners and honors experienced practitioners. We tend to get a beautiful mix of levels on each retreat.
How often will we practice yoga?
We will practice at least daily depending on what other activities are going on. We encourage participants to take part in as many classes as they can but also invite each participant to take care of themselves even if that means taking a break or going on an adventure!
Where is Ithaca, Greece and how do I get there?
Ithaca is a Greek Island located in the Ionian sea off the northeast coast of Kefalonia and to the west of continental Greece.
Ithaca has an area of 120 square kilometres (46 sq mi) and a little more than three thousand inhabitants. Ithaca is generally identified with Homer’s Ithaca, the home of Odysseus, whose delayed return to the island is one of the elements of the Odyssey‘s plot.
When should I arrive and depart?
The retreat begins at 5:00pm on the 21st, so we invite guests to arrive around 3pm or earlier in order to settle in after the long journey. We also suggest traveling before and/or after the trip and staying in Greece or somewhere else before/after the trip.
Upon departure we suggest that you schedule a flight for midday or later but can accommodate an earlier departure if necessary.
How do I get to Itha108?
Your end destination is Kefalonia, Greece a small airport near Ithaca. From there we can arrange a pick-up for you to take you directly to the yoga retreat.
The best way to book a flight to Kefalonia is to fly into Athens and book a separate flight to Kefalonia to keep the cost down. You can also fly into London or Milan, and we highly suggest exploring these amazing cities ahead of time.
All flights from Athens, London (Gatwick) or Milan (BGY) to Kefalonia depart early morning on the 21st, between 5am-7am, so you’ll have to either arrive the night before or super early in the morning
Flights depart Kefalonia midday or later.
Do I need a visa?
No visa necessary for US Passports/EU passports. Coming from somewhere else? Please check visa requirements.
Can I stay longer?
You will probably want to! If you would like to stay more than 30 days, you can apply for a 60-day tourist visa at the Consulate of Indonesia closest to you. You will likely have to show proof of a ticket to leave the country. Itha108 is a yoga retreat center and you will most likely not be able to stay there because of other retreats, however if you’re interested, pleas inquire.
Should I rent a car?
It is not necessary, nor advisable, to rent a car.

What will the weather be like?
May is one of the best times of the year to visit Ithaca, Greece, when the temperatures are high and the chance of rain is low. Not only is the weather great during this month, but the island will also be relatively quiet compared to the busy summer months, resulting in cheaper accommodation, flight, restaurant and attraction prices.
I’m traveling alone, can I still signed up for the shared room?
Yes. We’ll do a great job pairing you up with a roommate!

Is Greece safe?
Where we are going it is very safe.
Are there any health concerns I need to be aware of?
It is recommended that you visit your GP, personal physician or a travel health clinic 4 to 8 weeks before your departure to Greece, however it is generally one of the safest places to travel in respect to health concerns.
What if I need to see a doctor?
We always have plans for anyone needing medical attention on the island and because we require all participants to purchase travel insurance we do not hesitate to bring participants to the best hospitals available.
What is the electrical currency/outlet in Greece?
If you live in a country with 110V electricity, your electric accessories would not work in Greece where 220V (50Hz) electrical outlets are standard. You need to purchase an electrical adaptor to make sure all your equipment can be plugged into the Greek electrical outlets. An adapter allows your plug to physically fit into the Greek power outlets.
Keep in mind that you will not need more than one adapter, unless you want to charge all your equipment one at a time. An adapter like this simply allows your plugs to fit into the Greek electrical outlets, it does not ensure that your appliance would work in the 220V current of the wall outlets in Greece.
Many electrical appliances have a transformer that allows them to adjust to different voltage, and some must be switched manually from 120V to 220V electricity. Check your manual to see how your appliance can handle different voltage. Even if your appliance does not have the ability to adjust to different voltage, you can use your own transformer.
