Experiencing a Surf & Yoga Retreat at Aqua Nicaragua Through Photos

August 1, 2016

nicaragua

Ever dream of going down to where the lush tropic forest meets a private beach cover on Nicaragua’s Emerald Coast?

Well if you haven’t you’ll start dreaming now. We just spent a week on a secluded and peaceful setting full of beach time, yoga, meditation and spa treatments that nourish the soul.

Besides yoga and meditation, we also got a chance to enjoy kayaking, fishing, and world-class surfing.

In addition, our photographer, Nicole Lindstrom, compiled this list of must do’s:

Surf + live music at Mag Rock

Breakfast or lunch at Party Wave Gigante and Pili’s Kitchen

Hike to the cliffs of Playa De Redonda

Check out Rancho Santana + Playa de Colorado

Pool + Beach + Surf at Hacienda Iguana

Nicole Lindstrom is the co-author of Wanderlust, A Modern Yogi’s Guide To Discovering Your Best Self, Founder and Editor of the online travel site GLDMNE, and Community and Content Director at Aspen Yoga Society. 5 years with Wanderlust, Nicole has practiced with the world’s top yoga instructors and has worked with leading musicians, artists and experts in health and wellness. Today Nicole lives in Aspen, Colorado, where she teaches yoga through AYS and local studios.

Starting in the realm of partnerships at Wanderlust, Nicole expanded into event production, writing / content editing. In 2014, she created GLDMNE, an online travel guide + inspiration board. Today GLDMNE continues to grow as an online community of travelers, thinkers and artists who share their experiences of worldly explorations.
In 2010, Nicole completed her first 200 hour training in Vinyasa / Hot Yoga. She then went on to New York City where she became well-versed in Schuyler Grant’s alignment-based vinyasa, Kula Yoga. In January 2014, YogaWorks hired Nicole to complete their 200 hour training in Bali, where she deepened her understanding of the body and posture alignment.
With experience teaching in her Greenpoint neighborhood, instructing sunrise grounding meditations and hikes at Wanderlust Festival, and teaching friends all over the world, Nicole’s focus is to create an informed foundation for her student’s, so that they may further their own depth of understanding in their personal practice and transform the way they approach their life.
