50 Little Things to Boost Your Happy

June 29, 2016

Want to boost your happy? Yeah, us too! Check out this sweet little list of 50 simple things that can raise our happy factor to the max.

It doesn’t take much. It needn’t take much. It is better suited to a fulfilling life if it is kept to a simple and uplifting way of being.

Happiness is a metered out emotion that spills from every pore of our bodies is as nature intended, and can get squashed if not nourished. Without going much further into the why’s and the how’s and the what’s of everything that make life so awesome, here are some little nuggets of happy that just might turn your day around.

And, for the record, our inner child may need to show up during any or all of these, as adulting could possibly get in the way. Be curious and let your mind and heart and soul wander.

50 Little Things to Boost Your Happy

  2. Eat purple cabbage raw, right off the cutting board. Same with purple onion (excellent for your health and immune system).

  3. Sit quietly for 20 minutes.

  4. Turn off your phone until well into the latter part of the morning.

  5. Go for a long walk in nature, not just an around the block walk, but a real “looking up” walk.

  6. Make a new friend in your neighborhood.

  7. Cuddle closely with your animals—smell their paws and fur, allow their scents to commingle in your skin.

  8. Have dark chocolate first thing with your tea or coffee.

  9. Spend the entire day barefoot.

  10. Write in your journal, spill out your thoughts and heart, and scream if you have to.

  11. Make funny faces in the mirror.

  12. Eat breakfast for dinner, and include a glass of wine with it.

  13. Take a mini break several times per day.

  14. Explore something you’ve never seen, in your own back yard.

  15. Watch a butterfly sail through the air.

  16. Take a bath with candles and soft music.

  17. Sit under a tree and read a book.

  18. Clean out your office drawers.

  19. Look back at old photos and draw up memories of the moments.

  20. Stare at the sky.

  21. Send a handwritten letter to a loved one.

  22. Eat your meal outside, with no technology and nobody watching.

  23. Stand in the shallow shore of the ocean and allow the waves to crash at your feet.

  24. Unplug for an entire day…maybe a weekend.

  25. Give yourself a homemade pedicure (not only reserved for women!)
