5 Reasons to Travel to Tulum this Winter

October 28, 2015

As the days get darker and darker and we see our first signs of snow, it’s easy to stay inside and feel disconnected from the sun.

Luckily, there’s a solution to the winter’s cold – getting away and experiencing the sunshine.

We’ve found the perfect place to escape. Tulum, one of the most spiritually abundant towns, is a yogi paradise. There are plenty of yoga classes. The food is healthy and delicious, the water is warm and healing. Adventure and relaxation is everywhere.

5 Reasons to Travel to Tulum this Winter

1. Spend Time Outside

When you can’t take the winter any longer, spend time unwinding on the beach, beneath the sun. Wake up for the sunrise over the ocean and take your practice outside. You’ll raise you Vitamin D levels and find healing.

It’s important to find time to escape the winter and the sweet relief is only a plane ride away.

2. Find Adventure

Not only can you find adventure by walking the beaches and surfing the seas of Tulum, you’ll be able to journey through the jungle and take a hike. You may also choose to experience Mayan ruins, or choose to see sweat lodges, underground crystal clear water caves.

3. Enliven Your Yoga Practice #OfftheBeatenMat

Change your location, change your life? Well, sometimes but it certainly can bring new energy to your yoga practice. Practice overlooking the beach with new intentions and new friends. You’ll inspire each other to go deeper – physically, emotionally and spiritually.

4. Expand Your Community

On vacation, you’ll be free from the restraints of your daily life and will feel open to making life-changing connections with like-minded people. You’ll grow your yogi family and may even create life-long connections.

5. Relax and Unwind

When we take a “staycation,” it’s impossible to truly forget about our cares. On the sandy beaches and turquoise watesr of Tulum, you’ll be able to spend time living in the present moment. Enjoy a book on the beach, chill in a hammock or in the sea.

While Tulum is always epic, we’ve discovered the best retreat center – Uno Astrolodge! Join us there with Be Shakti from January 24-30, with Brook Cheatham March 6-12, or with Jazz Braden from March 12-18.
